司美格魯肽（Semaglutide）是一種胰高血糖素樣肽（GLP-1）類似物，GLP-1是由人體胃腸道黏膜分泌出的一種“腸促胰素”，通過刺激胰島素分泌和降低胰高血糖素分泌的機制降低血糖。
恒敬利用大腸桿菌菌株發(fā)酵生產的半合成司美格魯肽，與人類的 GLP-1 具有 94% 的序列同源性，內毒素含量極低且不含任何動物源性的病原體。
Semaglutide is an analog of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is a hormone secreted by the mucous membrane of the human gastrointestinal tract known as an "enteroendocrine hormone". It lowers blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion.
Virtu Pharmako utilizes E. coli strains to produce semi-synthetic semaglutide, which shares 94% sequence homology with human GLP-1. It has extremely low endotoxin content and does not contain any animal-derived pathogens.
